Education - Penn State University
At The Pennsylvania State University commencement ceremony in May 2010, I was proud to represent my classmates as the Journalism Department Marshal for the College of Communications. I was selected for this honor based on my academic accomplishments, campus involvement, and community service.
In four years at Penn State, I earned Bachelor's degrees in Journalism, International Politics, and German, and a minor in Business. As a Schreyer Honors College scholar, I maintained a 3.96 GPA.
Outside of the classroom, I enhanced my educational experience by studying abroad, completing several internships, and getting involved in campus activities. Beginning my freshman year, I was proud to represent Penn State as a varsity cheerleader. I also helped raise awareness about pediatric cancer through the Penn State Dance Marathon and reported for campus television and radio.

Penn State Cheerleading
Beginning my freshman year, I had the opportunity to showcase my school pride on the sidelines of the
football field and basketball court as a Penn State Cheerleader. From The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, to the NIT Championship in Madison Square Garden, I was able to act as an ambassador to the university and share the tradition and spirit of Penn State with fans and alumni.
THON
I also took on a leadership role in cheerleading as our Penn State Dance
Marathon (THON) philanthropy chair. I was responsible for organizing
and implementing all of our team's fundraising efforts for the largest
student-run philanthropy in the world. My senior year, our team raised
more than $10,000 to help fight pediatric cancer and I was chosen by my teammates to dance in the 46-hour, no sleeping, no sitting, dance marathon.

Semester Abroad - Berlin, Germany
Spending spring 2008 in Berlin, Germany, opened my eyes to the international
environment. By participating in an language immersion program, I took all of my courses in German and lived with a host family. I was able to improve my foreign language skills,
eat new foods, study unique topics, travel around Europe, and experience different customs. This trip challenged me to look at international affairs from a new perspective and created an itch to include traveling in my future.
